FOR KODAK EASY SHARE, PICASA, or HOTMAIL USERS, please use the Instructions found below in RED. VERY IMPORTANT!
If using another photo program to email, check in "Preferences," "Settings," "Photos" or something similar within your program to see if there is a setting regarding the size of the photo you are emailing to ensure you send at original highest resolution.
Please, do NOT email us cropped or edited photos to design from as any editing usually results in low resolution photos that we can not work from. You can send us cropped or edited versions along with your original photos to show us how you'd like your photos cropped or edited. But we NEED your ORIGINAL photos to work from.
What resolution and file format should my photos be sent in?
Ideally, we need a 1200x1800 pixel image to get the best quality for
your 4-inch x 6-inch print (at 300dpi). A higher resolution is even
better! A lower resolution may work for a collage design, which incorporates several smaller size photos. If using a digital camera, set your camera to the
highest resolution possible (Please refer to your owner's manual for more information about setting the resolution on your camera). Please save your files to either JPG, TIFF or PSD format before e-mailing them to us. Also, please make sure your e-mail program does not try to automatically resize your photo(s) if you e-mail your photo(s). Following these resolution and file format guidelines will ensure the highest quality card.
How do I send my photos(s)?
You may send your photos by e-mail to photos@instylecards.com or by postal mail to InStyle Cards, 8002 NE Hwy 99 PMB #721, Vancouver, WA 98665-8813. Please be sure to put your baby's name in the subject line of the e-mail or in pencil on the back of photos sent via postal mail. Please Do Not mail or scan a printed digital image from your printer no matter the print quality; resolution is lost in the recapture to computer. Therefore, only professionally-printed photos should be scanned or e-mailed to us. Please do not crop your image. We will crop your photo to best fit your announcement.
There are several options for getting your photo images into the proper
format to send to us:
E-mail
your full, uncompressed, unresized, uncropped, original high-resolution
images from your digital camera to us as a JPG, TIFF or PSD file
Scan
a 35mm print photograph at 300 dpi (300 dpi minimum-higher is better), save it preferably as a TIFF file, and email it to us (glossy photos scan best)
Postail
mail your 35mm print(s) to us, and we will professionally scan them for
you to get the best possible resolution for your card (glossy photos
scan best). We will send your photos back to you with your order.
If at all possible, please do not send your ONLY copy of the photo(s), as
we can not be responsible for the mail delivery service.
Postal
mail a CD copy of your digital images to us (Please put Baby's name on CD label). We prefer that you
do not send CD's prepared by the photo processing lab that printed
your photos, as the resolution is usually too low. However, if they
allow you to choose the resolution to save them as, have them save
them at 300 dpi or higher, preferably as a TIFF file (Kinko's
can do this).
